JK Rowling: Richest Woman Alive

by Michael on July 19, 2011

I think I can safely say that Joanne Rowling, the author of the famous Harry Potter series of books (sales of 400 million copies), has achieved financial freedom. She could I am sure never have to lift pen to paper again and would comfortably live off a considerable fortune and passive income stream: reportedly at around $500,000/day. Her net worth is considered to be $1 billion USD and the Harry Potter brand is estimated to be worth around $15 billion USD.

However the point of this post is to tell you that it was not always so easy for Mrs Rowling. If we go back to the first draft of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, just bear in mind that this manuscript was rejected by 9 publishers before Bloomsbury accepted it !! With 9 rejections I am sure she went through a few low points – coupled to this she was a single mum, living on £69 a week in benefits and a loan from a friend.

But she never gave up. It is a great lesson to us all. No matter what our dream is, what our amazing idea is, just keep on going forward and we can achieve our goals. Well done to JK Rowling.

I adore your wp theme, exactly where would you down load it through?

Hi Harris,
It is a busybee theme from Woothemes – just google it for the link. I found it as a free download on the net but recently was advised by someone that for full access and administration rights there is a licence (not sure though). But anyway, better to be safe than sorry, so I do have a new design under construction so Moneyography will metamorphose soon: but I do like the busybee theme and intend to buy the design in the future for my next project. Hope you like the blog, let me know any comments and thanks for reading.
Good luck.
Michael.
